During Military Appreciation Month (May), several businesses have organized a cell phone recycling campaign, with all proceeds going to combat-injured service members.
AnswerTheCallNow is asking you to help collect and donate old discarded cell phones, which can be recycled and then turned into cash. USA Cares, a national non-profit that helps combat wounded service members, will receive from .50 cents to $150.00 per phone depending on the type and condition of the device you donate.
How you can help
Pioneer Services, the Military Banking Division of MidCountry Bank, is helping coordinate this effort in the business community. They will be accepting donations at drop boxes in their 17 retail locations around the country, and in their Kansas City, Missouri corporate headquarters and Las Vegas operations center throughout the month of May.
It is recommended that you remove the SIM cards from all donated phones. If you are unable to do this, don’t worry. The recycling company Recelluar is very reputable, partnering with Verizon, Sprint, Motorola, etc., and has proprietary software that removes any personal and identifiable information on discarded phones.
Please take the time to help with this campaign during Military Appreciation Month.
Everyone has old phones lying around the house, why not get rid of them and help a service member in need at the same time?
